SMTMD Annual Meeting & Contra Dance
Saturday, November 8th
Christ's Church Hall
Southern Maryland Traditional Music and Dance [SMTMD] will conduct their (short) Annual Meeting, followed by the regularly scheduled contra dance, featuring caller Elgin Perry, on Saturday 8 November. This is a great way to learn about all that SMTMD is about and what the organization has to offer.
This will be a potluck event beginning at 6:00 pm, followed by the SMTMD Annual Meeting. The contra will begin immediately after the meeting, at 7:00pm and the dancing begins at 7:30.
Admission to the potluck and meeting is FREE. and the price to attend the contra is $10 for non-SMTMD members: $6 for members. No fancy or outlandish clothing is required. You need to be comfortable, to move freely. There will be an ice cream social following the dance.

Southern Maryland Open Band
Contra dancing is a traditional American style of social dance and is a huge amount of fun (and exercise)! If you’ve ever danced a Virginia Reel, you have a good idea how much fun it can be. If you haven’t, it’s about time you tried it! Beginners are encouraged to get some instruction in the various dances (starting at 7 pm).

He was the front man for Baltimore based Color Factory in the 90's, contributing lead vocals and rhythm guitar along with songwriting duties.
